The smallest creatures are often the most overlooked, yet they play a vital role in sustaining the natural world. So much of nature depends on tiny insects and small creatures that pollinate, enrich ecosystems, and quietly help the world thrive. This class is inspired by the beauty, importance, and wonder found in the tiniest details of nature as we slow down, observe, and celebrate these small wonders.

Working small is a simple, fast and creative way to carve out a daily art practice.  I've learned that creating small gives me the opportunity to finish a surface, explore an idea or technique and create composition in a short amount of time.

In this class we’ll spend 30 days working small and exploring small wonders found in the world of insects, bugs, and other tiny creatures. From wings and patterns to texture, shape, and movement, we’ll use these subjects as inspiration for a wide range of creative exploration.

Each day we’ll work on a small surface, using different techniques, materials, and approaches to create small surfaces that pack a punch! I’ll be sharing my favorite ways to explore through drawing, painting, layering, collage, and mixed media.

Join me for 30 days of prompts designed to help you slow down, explore, and find inspiration in the tiny details of the natural world.
